Who we are.
Welcome from the Pastor: Greetings to God’s Beloved!
I am Rev. Keisha R. Dukes, MDiv, Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church. We are “Christ church in the city, with a heart of Christ for the city.” As a church in the Nation’s Capital, we are committed to doing justice, loving mercy, and walking humbly with God (Micah 6:8).
At Christ United Methodist Church, we strive to be a brave space of grace for all of God’s beloved. We invite you to join us for worship, Christian education, mission, and outreach initiatives as we live faithfully and love boldly together.
“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”— John 13:34–35
Meet Our Pastor
Rev. Keisha R. Dukes, MDiv | Pastor | Christ United Methodist Church
Rev. Keisha R. Dukes is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. In 2019, she answered God’s call into pastoral ministry. She has served appointments in the Peninsula Delaware Conference of The United Methodist Church and, on July 1, 2023, was appointed by Bishop Latrelle M. Easterling to serve as Pastor of Christ United Methodist Church in the Baltimore-Washington Conference.
Rev. Dukes is a graduate of Wesley Theological Seminary, where she earned a Master of Divinity degree. She has been ordained an Elder in Full Connection in The United Methodist Church. Pastor Dukes has a deep love for United Methodist theology, particularly the sacrament of Holy Communion. She cherishes the doctrine that the Lord prepares a table where no reservation is required—only a willing heart that seeks repentance and to live in peace with one another. Truly, there is room for all at the Lord’s table.
Beyond the Pulpit
Pastor Dukes holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Morgan State University and has used her gifts as a theatre arts teacher, faith-based rapper, and spoken word artist. She joyfully uses every gift God has entrusted to her for God’s glory and the edification of God’s people.
Rev. Dukes is grateful for her husband, Bro. Brandon Dukes, and their daughter. To God be the glory!
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations…”
— Matthew 28:18–20
